Heather Dougherty Named Director of Research for Hitwise

NEW YORK, NY - January 30, 2007 - Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service, today announced that veteran online analyst Heather Dougherty has joined the company as director of research. Dougherty is a leading authority for the online retail industry with more than 10 years of research and online analyst experience.

Dougherty joins Hitwise from Nielsen Online, where she served as the senior retail analyst providing strategic analysis on the industry and publishing research projects. Prior to Nielsen, Dougherty spent four years with Jupiter Research covering the online retail and commerce space, including marketing and promotions, merchandising, and personalization.

Dougherty earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from The Ohio State University. She speaks frequently at industry events such as Shop.org, Internet Retailer, Ad:tech and Search Engine Strategies.
